Promote Harmonious Coexistence of “Oasis” and “Mine”
Many mineral deposits in Africa and the Arab world are located in desert oasis areas. Silk Road Mineral Exploration SARL (SRME) is an actor in the harmonious development of ‘Oasis’ and ‘Mine’. Using China’s desert management expertise, SRME collaborates with leading Chinese agricultural enterprises to promote sustainable oasis agriculture development for local communities. Since 2020, the “China-Africa Saline-Aquifer Agricultural Experimental Base” project has been underway in key mining regions of southern Morocco, introducing brackish irrigation water desalination technology and organic soil amendments from China.
Promising experimental results position this integrated approach as a viable solution for oasis preservation in Morocco and neighboring nations. SRME actively advocates for this project’s implementation across desert oasis areas within its exploration rights in partnership with relevant local institutions.
